Those that suffer from bipolar disorder will face major depressive episode symptoms at some points.  This is not a separate disease or disorder, but rather a part of the condition.  

What’s more, those that suffer from this condition are often very highly likely to hurt themselves or those around them, which makes this a very dangerous condition.

The bipolar symptoms in this type of episode include:

• A depressed mood, usually to an extreme level later on in the illness where as at the first signs it may not be as depressive.
• A loss of interest in activities that they used to find enjoyable.
• A loss of pleasure in activities that they did on a daily basis prior.
• This type of behavior that lasts for about a two week period.
• This type of behavior must be unique for the person in that they should not have this type of attitude constantly.  It should be a change from what would be considered normal activity for this person.

In addition to this, the change also should be affecting the person’s educational, social, and occupational conditions.  For example, if they are showing these bipolar symptoms at home, they should also be negatively affecting them at their place of employment or school to.
